Although it's a late start, I'm celebrating National Poetry Month by writing a haiku a day for the rest of April. I'll follow the 5-7-5 syllable pattern, but I won't pretend to understand the aesthetic nuances of this poetic form.
Ahem...
A strand of my hair
floats on the swollen river
Something left behind
